Is this because i've started having sex?

I've been married 4 months now, and before that i was a virgin.
The past 2 months, my husband and i have been trying to have a baby, but the past 2 periods have been irregular.

By saying irregular, i mean prolonged bleeding.
Last month i bled for 11 days, and i have my period now and its looking like the same thing.

I've had a transvaginal ultrasound, and they found nothing and no cause for the bleeding.
I also took a blood test and my doc said that everything is okay.

I have friends who tell me that sex may have caused the prolonged bleeding, could this be true?

This has never happened to me before. I'm usually regular with no complications.

Please only serious answers.
 
the same thing happened to me. i was a virgin before getting married and my periods were always on time and never very long or painful..
started having sex and I was shocked at how different they got! i started getting super bad cramps and they stopped being very regular and showed up days early or even weeks late.

i can only guess its due to the sex but i've never had a scientific reason for it lol.
