I saw an add online from a Nissan dealership. It has several pre-owned cars in the featured inventory page. Last week, I called about a specific car that caught my eye and asked if it was available. I was told it was still there and I could come by to look at it. We called again this afternoon (around 1 pm) to confirm that it was still available before we took the trip. They said yes and told us to come on down today. We drove for more than an hour and arrived at around 5 pm. They told us that they had already sold the car we were asking for, but they would dig around to make sure. The salesperson came back and told us the car has been sold 2 weeks ago, and that they had the internet postings up until the car was paid for. I live in Texas, and don't know if this is just sneaky tactics or actually illegal.. any input?
Of course after this ordeal, the salesperson tried to push and push us to purchase a car way above the budget we had planned.
