Im allergic to Mold
2 years ago I broke the center pane of my 3 pane sliding glass door in my family room, the new replacement pane allows water in from the gutters that are right over the door if we get a bad rain.
Okay in Septeraber after my son went to school the first day, I started cleaning my house, pulled everything out, then my dogs musta jerked me the wrong way on their leashes and my back was thrown out for the rest of the month.
During that month we had one HORRID rain and the seepage soaked the carpet near the sliding door, but I tried as hard as I could to dry it up.
In the beginning of October I got the worst cold of my life and was wheezing and coughing for most of October, bad fever etc. I stupidly let the Walgreens P.A. talk me into taking Amoxicillin. I never felt as if the amoxicillin "cleaned me up". Does that make sense?
I then got another rain in Noveraber and because I THOUGHT my friend from SC was coming up to see me in Thanksgiving I scrarabled to give the house a GREAT THOROUGH cleaning. I even had the carpets steam cleaned.
We had a new Wegmans supermarket open near me and I suddenly was eating a lot of mushrooms and Brie and one week before xmas I had gone to Wegmans and had eaten Mushrooms, and had tasted Gorgonzola when I got home I had had half a wedge of Brie (and the rind) I sat down on the couch and felt very odd then my blood pressure went up and my heart wsbeating very fast. I thought I was having a heart attack. I went to my Drs the next day and EKG was normal and so were blood tests.
I never suspected MOLD at that time cause I was always told that allergy of MOLD is not the same as penicillin or mushrooms or brie etc I now know differently.
Anyway I was told it was probably perimenopause.
I still do not feel right, I feel foggy headed.
2 weeks ago I took my dogs for a walk around the block and after that I started coughing and havent stopped. Some of the mucous that I cough up is smelly Then the wheezing started and then another bad rain came and activated molRAB in my house again and I was VERY tight in my chest and I went to the Urgent care and got a chest xray (NORMAL) and a breathing treatment (it did help!) I am getting a cleaner in this week and also getting the carpet replaced and Im living upstairs for now. No more smelly mucous BUT Im still wheezing and coughing and still feel odd!
Does asthma mean you wheeze all the time?
Does this sound like ASTHMA or something else?
