Is this appropriate with the nurse arguing?

Yesterday when I got my depo provera shot the nurse who did it argued with me where the best spot to get it at. I told her I always get it in my arm but she kept saying I do it in the butt. That is what the health board does.We argued for like a few minutes over that then after that I usually get it in my right now.But she said she won't do it because I have a tattoo in my arm,the last nurse who did the shot said it don't matter.

Is this appropiate with how she argued with me about the shot?

Since I knew where I got it at.
Yeah but I could do both I want it in my arm.
But I don't think it's right that she argued she could of just gave me the reasons. And did what I wish
My tat is 1 yr old.
And I didn't really argue I just told her I get it in my arm

Some nurses do things differently than others. She is probably used to giving shots in the butt or just more comfortable with it. Even though you told her you usually get it in the arm, you wouldn't want to make her give you a shot she isn't comfortable with. Doing that would probably cause pain on your end because she didn't want to do it there in the first place. You should try going to another office or asking for another nurse if you aren't comfortable with it.

It is OK to get the shot in either the upper arm or the buttocks.

You do not say how new your tattoo is.
If it is still "fresh" then the nurse was right to take the precaution of not inserting a needle into the site. Otherwise, there is no risk.

However, she might have actually been very considerate of you! Rarely, but sometimes, an injection can cause slight scarring, and disfigure the tattoo.

You should have thanked her for her concern, instead of arguing with her.

By the way, generally injections hurt less in the butt (more fatty tissue to cushion the hit), so you might want to reconsider your position about that.
