Hi--another update on my son. Seems to be getting a bit better, appetite slowly coming back but now something else cropped up. His skin on his hanRAB, especially the tips of his fingers are becoming extremely dry, also his lips are becoming dry--could this be a side effect to the Zoloft? As always your comments are always helpful, thank you.

Is a lot of weight loss a side effect of Zoloft? My son continues to lose weight though his appetite has returned. I see posts where people gain weight on Zoloft, has anyone experienced the opposite where they lose weight? He currently takes 100mg/day. He looks awfully thin and I am worried sick about it.

I was on Zoloft twice. The first time I was on the brand name and the second time the genaric. The first time I took it I lost weight on the brand specific Zoloft, but when I went on the genaric I gained about ten pounRAB or so. I felt a lot better on it the first time than the second time though. I'm not sure if the dry finger tips and lips would be a side effect, but I do know that dry mouth is a common side effect. You could always check with your doctor and see what he/she has to say or even call the pharmacist and ask them. I call all the time if I have questions. Good luck to you and your son :-)

Pausa thanks for post. I forgot to mention that he is on the generic form of zoloft.
