Is this allergies?? If so, how do I make it stop hurting?

I went to the doctor recently for an ear ache. I had just moved back to FL from TX. I have never had a problem before with allergies. Oh, except having hay fever in TX last year. But when I went to the doctor last weekend, I was told my ear ache was caused from fluid building in my ears due to allergies. Then it turned into an infection late last week. The pain is unbearable!!! Don't know what to do. The ear drops are doing nothing. I was also told that my tonsils were swollen. Is it allergies?

I'd go back to the doctor and have it re loked at - it might have turned into an infection, you might need different medicine?

Zyrtec D would help with the congestion and fluid build up, by controlling the allergy and opening up the nose, sinuses and ear tubes. Usualy one would take one twice a day - its avaliable at pharmacies (discuss with the pharmacist before using it though)

Thanks!! I am on antibiotics now for it. Still hurts like the devil. I will definitely look into the Zyrtec D. I need something that will work!!!

try warm compresses on your ear, not too hot though. It should help you. Feel better.
