Is this a wisdom tooth problem?

Okay Im 20 years old and my two top wisdom teeth are in, my two bottom are halfway there but actually pushing my gums up in the back causing a flap of skin over the teeth back there.

anyways the other day at work i felt like i had an ear ache. it started to get worse and my boss put ear ache drops in. after like 20 minutes it didnt do anything and she asked if i had my wisdom teeth still. she was surprised to hear i did and wanted to see them. i showed her and she thinks that that is what the problem is..the pain is moving up into my ear now...is this common?
Now today...my lymph node on my right side by my ear is a little tender and warm and a little painful..this is worrying me. my actual wisdom teeth dont hurt just those flaps of skin sometimes which makes me wonder if its the teeth at all making it feel like this. it doesnt hurt to eat or anything. its the only logical thing that makes sense though.

So the question is..what should be the first step i should do? go immediately to a denist or a regular doctor to even check if that is what the problem is. could i possibly have an infection of some sort from my wisdom teeth on that right side?

oh please any advice would be great

Dear Longview, Well, you said your ears hurt, and if they hurt bad enough for ear drops, I would go to a doctor first. This same thing happened to me, same symptoms. I got antibiotics, then it seemed to move around.

I'll try to summarize, antibiotics 6 weeks.

Then, I still had pain. went to an ear nose and throat doc. Had cat scans & stuff. Then went to his boss. Finally went to a DDS. (dentist/doctor) who diagnosed me with TMJ, and then went to physical therapy. All this over a period of 10 months. I'm throwing all of this out, because I wouldn't wish this long term pain on ANYBODY. Could be ears, could be your wisdom teeth TOO! Don't get me wrong, wisdom teeth can do a LOT of damage, and cause a Lot of pain in wierd places. See a doc, then a dentist. Help your pain first, so you can think straight!!! Good Luck!! Dear Longview: THe ER, by law can't refuse you. They can ask for billing info. And you can pay in payments. It also cannot affect your credit. Go there. Sherbear38
