Is this a weird thing to feed a sick cat with cancer?

Okay, I have posted a ton of questions on this forum the past few days so please be patient with me. YES, I have called my vet and and gotten all kinds of medication from him to make my cat not be nauseaus but it is NOT working. He has not eaten in two days. Just a summary: He has been diagnosed with high grade lymphoma but it is not far enought along yet to be in his other organs..it is in his abdomen. He started his first round of chemo last week (I have pet insurance that pays for this so why not...plus the vet told me that cats respond very well to chemo). So, now he is not eating a darn thing...I have offered him every smelly type of food that I know he cannot resist: tuna, tuna water, wet food, friskies seafood dry food,..etc(basically things I would not normall feed him but I need to get him to eat since he looks anorexic!).
I got really fed up this afternoon and put some almond milk in a syringe and forced it down his throat. He took it fine...did not like that I was forcing it but he did not freak out or throw up. I just did it again. the almond milk I had in my fridge only has 40 calories per 8 ounces (it is unsweetened) but at least I got some fluids down him right? Since I got that down, should I go to the pet store and buy some sort of cat formula (like they use for kittens) since it has more nutritional value? I do not want to give him real milk because I know cats are lactose intolerant.
Advice Please. BTW, I gave him almond milk because I am lactose intolerant and that is what I had in my fridge...so no lecturing please.
oh, he is 15 years old...in case anybody wants to know his age.
sorry, dont meant to be bitter...I just get lectured everytime I post things in this section for some reason. People always assume i have not taken him to a vet or something. Thanks for your answers!
