Is this a weird reaction?

My boyfriend and I were walking around 66th and Broadway in NYC yesterday (we live in the city, and are used to the crazies), and two middle-aged guys passed us. One of them grabbed me by my arm, and asked me if he could "grab that a**". I stopped, and I think my mouth fell open. First, because that type of thing doesn't happen too often in that neighborhood. Second, because my boyfriend just kind of shrugged and said, "Well, at least he asked first." I didn't know who I wanted to punch more. Admittedly, if some one else had told me this situation as a story, I would have thought it was kind of funny, but- still- am I wrong to feel let down a little by my boyfriend's response?

sorry, couldn't help but laugh a bit at your story, it's kinda amusing.
But you're not wrong for feeling this way at all, the least he could have done is say like hey get your hands off of my girl! or something like that. From time to time you wanna feel protected? or like he would get a little pissed if a guy made a move on you right? understandable!
