I have been working on this since my oldest daughter was conceived. I have been working my way through the elementary/middle school books at my local library. I skipped the "see spot run" books and started with the books containing Beverly Cleary and books like that. But my goal is to read them all. I spend some of the time reading to my girls, other times reading to myself. But my purpose is to hopefully encourage them to read and if they pick it up, I will more than likely KNOW the book they reading and be able to talk to them about it. I have a very good memory for books.
Is this idea weird or not?
Lol, yep I read the ramona quimby books. It was great reading books from the past. The funny thing is, it doesn't take that much time, because so many of them are done in 30 minutes. Big words and pictures go a long way!
meems-I don't believe in censoring books, so I wouldn't check for inappropriate books. Writing is an art and I don't think creative art should be censored.
