This question is a little long because it needs some background.
I just graduated at a University in New Jersey; I got my bachelors in History/Political Science I graduated with a 3.1 gpa. For a VERY long time I thought I wanted to go to law school and become America's next big defense lawyer.
For a myriad of reasons I have happily abandoned that dream (bad gpa, being a lawyer is not glamorous or prestigous).
I went to college for free so as of right now I have $0 student debt. I am now planning on pursuing a career in teaching. The current plan that I have floating around in my head is to apply to a masters in education for social studies program in one of the campuses of the University of California.
I don't have any teaching experience what-so-ever right now, but starting next week I'll be volunteering at my county library teaching kids and doing after school programs.
I am ok with taking on debt if I'll be able to pay it back what do you guys think? Would it be a hindrance to get a masters degree without having any work experience yet or in this case is it alright?
