I came across this post on Craigslist looking for someone to help sell electronic items on Ebay for a % commission. I lists the items, buyers pay me, he ships the items only to confirmed addresses, I subtract fee costs (ebay, paypal) and take my %, then send the remaining amount to him via MoneyGram.
I emailed the guy and he asked if I wanted the job. I said yes and right away he sent me 4 items to sell. If everything went find he would send more. He did add that if an address was not confirmed, I just refund the money (but this only occurs rarely). I have sold 3 of 4 items and everything has gone fine.
My worry is that I'm curious where he's getting the items. There Brand New! Some I've sold are cheaper than market price and he seems okay with this.
I became even more curious when a buyer got a new ipod without all the accessories (turns out he had all the accessories in the little box). I was going to have the buyer ship the ipod back and exchange it for a new one. The guy i work for agreed to ship a brand new Ipod but told the guy to just keep the ipod he first got. Who does that?
Does he not want his address known? I've only spoke with this guy through email. He says he's in NY and the tracking numbers he sends me are from there. Should I be worried? If the items were stolen etc, would I be in trouble for selling them?
What about moneygram. Could my personal info be stolen?
