is this a good way to get a girl to talk to me?

i want to ask a girl if shell talk to me. but i have to ask her to talk, either thru text or a facebook message. ( long story) what should i say to her to ask her to talk? do i just say like "hey can we please talk"
shes mad at me and i want to find out why. so what should i say to her to ask her to talk?

p.s. i more or less know what im going to say in person. shes 14 if that means anything?
