is this a good thesis statement ?

I am writing an essay about the Rrussian revolution. The topic is " was stalin a marxist or a dictator"? Is this a good thesis statement?


Although Stalin was a Marxist Revolutionary in his early years, he should not be considered as a true marxist because he became so corrupt afterwards that he ended up being a cruel dictator.
 
As a thesis statement it is good. Question is what it to be used to prove statement & what will be used to prove that one cannot be a confirmed marxist and a brutal dictator and the same time. Think Mao Zedong, Pol Pot.
