I did a double take.
I saw the solitary drop of rain falling from the swirling cloud thousands of feet above me. I hurried to my car- which meant I was there before the drop hit the sidewalk. By the time I was halfway home I could hear the individual splashes hitting my windshield.
I parked my car in front of my cabin like house. I dodged each drop on the way inside. I figured I would look pretty odd to my neighbors if I had them, curving this way and that to avoid the water. It was more of a game for me, I could care less about getting wet.
Storms are distracting. I can hear every impact of the millions of rain drops on the ground. Smell the scent of burning air and wet mud with each breath. Looking out the window is dizzying; Layers and layers of rain, the clouds protesting the thunder rolling through them. And if you think lightning is bright, you should see it through my eyes.
Have you ever heard about horses being able to feel storms? They start acting strange, neighing and huffing. They rock their heads up and down and pin their ears back edgily. Well I hear you horsies. I wonder if it’s the same, if they can feel it on their skin. If it charges every pore and if the storm pulsates through their veins...
