Intro: I’m here today to talk about marijuana and why it should stay illegal.

History: Marijuana has been around for a very long time and it has been illegal in the United States since 1937. Still, people continue take the illegal drug because of their psychological addiction to it, even after it gives them many health issues, and endangers many people.

Inherency points:

I point one- Education: People who continue to do marijuana stop caring about everything important in life. They stop getting good grades and don’t care enough to go to college. Their whole life starts to revolve around marijuana.

I point two- Career: If you don’t get a good education then obviously you’re not going to get a good job or any job at all. Which makes the unemployment rate go up. If you don’t make any money you will also end up on the streets or living in your parents basement all by yourself.

I point three- Side Effects: Taking marijuana makes you have hallucinations and have a loss of coordination. It also gives you problems with memorizing things, learning, thinking, and problem solving. Distorted perception is also a side effect of doing marijuana.

Harm Points:

H Point one- Expenses: The costs of all the marijuana you bought and the medical bills you had to pay off from doing marijuana build up into a large amount of money. This money could’ve been used to buy much better things with.

H Point two- Danger: Some people have the tendency to drive while they are doing marijuana or after they do marijuana. It is more likely for them to get in a car accident and harm themselves and another person.

H Point three- Health: The THC in marijuana stops your immune system from fighting diseases and it also increases the risk of developing bacterial infections and tumors. Marijuana leads to impaired memory, lung infections, and obstructed airways. Marijuana also gives you dangerous chest infections and daily cough and phlegm production.

suggestions?

im in an 8th grade debate class.

Some of your points are just propaganda . They don't always give you the truth .Sometimes they give you what they want you to believe . Your arguments won't hold up well in the real world but in an 8th grade debate class , you might win .
I hope you take the time to find out the truth about marijuana and how relatively harmless it really is .
