Is this a good idea (Iphone 4 unlocked for fido)?

Hi guys-so I'm currently on fido's killer plan and can't wait for the iphone 4 (like most idiots :P)

basically- I'm planning on preordering the AT&T version; cancelling the contract; and then unlocking it in Canada sometime late June.

Can you guys please outline the pros and cons of such a course of action?
