My wife and I are looking to buy this Honda Accord. It's a 1989 Honda Accord sedan (not sure if it's LX pr LXI) with 150,000 miles. The guy selling it has had it for about 5 years and he has EVERY single receipt for every piece of maintenance he's done, even down to the windshield wipers. It looks like he changed the oil ever 3000 miles (just from looking at some of the receipts we saw).
There were no major problems that we saw. The sunroof did not leak or show any signs of leaking, the engine was clean but slightly rusty, the car had no rust spots anywhere but the clear coat was chipped in several areas.
The car fired right up in 20 degree cold and ran great when we test drove it. All of the electric parts work. Heat and air both worked. The only thing I didn't like was that it was really low to the ground but I can get used to that.
So is it worth $950? Please keep in mind that we only have a $1200 car budget.
