is they a mechanic in the house i need help with my fait punto 60 s ?

ve got a Fiat punto 60 s R reg having bother with gears they wont Select wean engine is running but will when engine has stopt ve changed the slave cylinder and bled it through no air in it resavar is top up to Level only check the links to gear lever they working fine but still no joy can any one help as i need the car to take my disabled wife to shop in
 
sounds as though the clutch has worn out if this is the case it will cost you as its not the kind of job you can do yourself if you don't understand cars also first try and see if its the clutch cable that's gone if it is only the cable its a lot cheaper to fix sorry for sending you what i think is bad news good luck
 
its probably the clutch assembly, whip it out and see how worn it is. i had a similar prob on a laguna, the selector arm just needed greasing and after it was moved about by arm it worked fine, god knows why it wouldn't work with the engine running.
 
if its been sitting for any length of time the clutch plate will be stuck to the flywheel...i answerd a similar question the other day..follow these steps....
what you do is...
hand brake on
foot on brake
stick it in first
foot on the clutch...then start the engine...it may take a couple ot turns of the key before it brakes free...after which youll get a smell for a few miles till the rust is worn away,no harm will have been done....
if it doesn't start...you need to push it somewhere on a strait road...
put it in gear,1st
foot on clutch and start it,now if it doesnt breke free strait away simply drive it slow[with foot on clutch] hand brake on and off and throttle on and off,you want to make it rock,this should break away the clutch....done it many times on bikes/cars that have been sitting for any lenght of time...hope this helps.
