practice on TV? ? Firstly I don't really watch tv, I find it far too awful to watch, for a few years now. And I have heard about the media's portrayal of Christians pretty much being a joke on tv lately, sort of dismissed those claims, people tend to yell discrimination non stop, you just ignore most of it.
But this past weekend I had to look after my teenage cousin. And she watched tv non stop, so I watched a few shows with her. Now this was things like the ABC Family line up. So I expected wholesome and all that craziness. I must say I was shocked, and I am not even a Christian.
One show in particular "Life of an American Teen" or something to that. Was really bad. In the episode I watched they had a chastity ball, and people literally got laughed out, as the one Christian guy who was saving himself for one of the leads, the Christian girl, totally cheated on her with some slut, then had to drop to his knees to pray. This was all done is total satire. And this didn't end there.
Almost every Christian character were all for comedy and satire, almost all night. I much say I think I now know what people are screaming about.
Is this a common thing. Christians literally being used like target practice. Has the average person really heard enough from the religious right to gain the title of satire? And on family time slots with the watermarked "Family" in the bottom of the screen, as they make fun of Christians and virgins, for the whole night. I was pretty shocked.
