i live in Canada, and if i went to the USA, is there any taxes?

for example the nintendo DSi in Canada is $199.99 +13% which equals $225.45

So in America for the Nintendo DSi, would you just pay $169.99? (because that is the price)

sales taxes apply in America to all retail sales. rates are set by the specific state and local governments.

further, when you take it back to Canada, I bet your 13% tax will be assessed at Customs. and there may be an import duty as well.

There are taxes in the U.S. on electronics. Within the U.S., the tax rate varies from state to state, and even from county to county. The typical range is 6-9%.

If you buy the Nintendo in the U.S. and then transport it to Canada, you might be required to pay tax to the government of Canada and/or the government of your province, in addition to the tax paid in the U.S.
