Is there some sort of regulation or guideline concerning increasing tuition?

When i enrolled in school Oct 2010 I was told my tuition amount for the 2010-2011 school year. Now, as of April 2011, my tuition went up almost $1500 a year. I do not understand how the school can change tuition for the last quarter of the school year. Isn't there some sort of deadline, guideline, or regulation concerning this?
