Is it really as simple as giving them another excuse to say, "Haha, Dems! You're moronic alarmists, and we're not! We're RIGHT!" Or does it run deeper than that (to multi-billion-dollar fossil fuel companies, etc.)?
I ask because some things I've read lately make it out as though Dems = Yes, Reps = No when it comes to answering "Is anthropogenic climate change taking place?" And I'm interested in why there could be such a partisan divide on a question of (presumably objective) science.
