is there is a cable that connects the laptop with a plasma TV?

i want to play movies on the plasma TV
what kind of cable should i buy??
what about the sound? how can i adjust the laptop sound of the movie to the plasma TV?
 
It's usually done with a hdmi cable but can be done with an s - video cable but at a lower quality. Both your computer and tv need to have matching ports. s - video is quite common as some projectors use s - video but hdmi is not as common and you may need to ask for it when purchasing a computer.
