Is there anywhere on the web to get a real debate on political issues?

It seems evey place I go to on the web, political discussions are always nasty and especially emotional. Liberals think all republicans are theocrats like the taliban. Conservatives see no difference between the democratic and communist parties. Even in Y Answers, it seems there is a dearth of real discussion and a surplus of name calling. Does anyone know of some place on the web where people tend to actually discuss political differences without name calling - or someone trying to sell me penile enlargement pills or something?

Wish I could answer it, but since I have limited time at home with my trusty desktop, Y/A is the best I've found.

Every time I've asked a question similar to yours, I've gotten all kinds of agreement from many folks, but still we are plagued with the infantile, the bigoted, and the bored.

When I suggested a higher level of forum here at Y/A, maybe one where you had to have so many "Best Answers", or starred questions to participate, I got accused of being an elitist, and of only wanting to deal with those who agreed with my views,..so good Luck, and let me know if you find a real group of inquisitive / informed people who want to discuss Stuff !
 
i dont think republicans are theocrats. i just think they are disconnected from reality and way too willing to borrow from children for tax cuts today.

are you a republican? have you voted for those proposing tax cuts with no offsetting savings? if you are, then you are in a real debate here.
