Is there anyway that I can buy a blackberry (ATT) without the purchase of a data plan?

I needs a new phone, but doesn`t want to shell out the extra money for a data plan...I REALLY want another blackberry (I use the calendar A LOT), but was told data plans are a mandatory purchase with smart phones....any suggestions? anyone ever buy a phone of e-bay???? (I use ATT)
