Is there anything we can learn from the collapse of GM, Chrysler, Greece, and possibly..

...Portugal,? and the role of unions? Did we get shortchanged in that the UAW didn't kill anyone in street to street rioting? Is there any reason to believe that since the UAW insisted that there was more money to bleed out of dead companies that the Greek unions would realize that the cupboard is bare and it might be best to put country first above union extortion tactics?
