You pay dues to your troop and that money goes to paying for the activities that you guys do together such as camping and overnights. I was a girl scout in elementary school and our dues were something like 10 bucks a weeks and we had a troop campout at the end of the year in a cabin (not a tent) and we also went to a lock in at the local YMCA type facility with all the other troops in our area where we did really fun activities including swimming, sports, games, arts and crafts and making snacks. Raising money for the girls scouts is a good thing because that is what keeps them alive and gives girls in the future the opportunities that we have. I think girl scouts is an important social, moral and educational learning experience for young girls.
