Is there anything different about driving a Toyota Prius?

I'm renting a Toyota Prius and I've heard mixed things about how driving it can differ from driving a regular car. This is what the website from the company I'm renting from says about it...

"Priuses have unique ignition features. The "key" is a plastic device that should always stay plugged into the dashboard. Do not remove it! Thus, when you open the driver door, the door chime will always ring. That's okay. To "power up", press the Power button on the dash while you apply the brake and the car will come alive. The shifter is a joystick on the dash. Remember, this car's engine will stop when you are stopped. Don't be alarmed, just step on the gas and go. To Park and Power off, press the rectangular Park button on the dash and then press the Power button on the dash -- both while applying the brake."

It sounds like a lot... does anyone know anything about this? Is it really that different or will I be able to figure it out when I see everything? Anything else I should know about the Prius?

Thanks!
