Is there any way to stop this big Aloe Vera plant in my front garden from dying?

I have this huge aloe vera plant that my dad's been growing for ever and then it started to randomly blossom this huge huge flower. But then my aunt spoke 2 me and said that after the flower dies the whole plant will die. I was like"What?" and i nearly wanted 2 cry (baby-ish i know, but i felt sad for my dad! and the plant has been there since i could remember) and i really want to know is there any way to stop if from dying?

First of all I get the feeling that this is not an aloe but a century plant or an agave. The plants do die after flowering but usually as an added bonus they push up several offsets that replace the main plant. You could have tiny little versions of the plant your dad had. If it is indeed an aloe then it will not die after flowering and will continue to grow
