is there any way to back up the saved games on a computer game?

im trying to fix my grandparents computer for them and they don't want to let me beacus they risk losing the hundreds of hours they have dumped into this casino game they said if i could back up there saved games i could fix the computer for them which really needs it
if u know how pleas give step by step details
i am going to be formatting their entire computer
