I'm fifteen, never had sex, but my mother insists I start seeing one. I don't want some creepy old guy looking at my woman parts. Can't I just go through life without one?Because it would just make it so much better if a young hot guy was checking me out?Plus, a woman is barely better. That's like double creeps. And I'm scared of them being like a paedophile lesbian or something, or a paedophile hetereo.I think I'll take my chances with cervical cancer.

Haha...I really don't want to go through that either. I just turned 15....I hope my mom doesn't make me see one.

Well, you could die of cervical cancer. That's one way of avoiding it.PS. They allow women to be gynecologists nowadays.

I feel the same way, I'm 16 and my mom said she went to one at 15. I'm just too afraid the doctor would turn out to be like some gross old dude or a lesbian or something. I mean..why pay someone to molest you. :/ I doubt I'll ever go.Go ahead and give me thumbs down girls, it's not my fault no one likes you. (:Ohh and about the cervical cancer thing, if you got vaccinated you probably won't get it. I got vaccinated. (:

u don't have to get a creepy old guy u could get a woman if u prefer u get to choose your doctor

you could but its a lot safer to go to one. and sometimes its not an old creepy guy.plus you can have someone in the room to make sure nothing weird happens

You can go to a woman if that makes you more comfy. You really should go see one.

No, you can't go through life without a gynecologist. But here is no reason that you have to see a creepy old man. I am way, way older than you and I have never been to a male gynecologist - old, creepy, or otherwise. I only see female gynecologists.Tell your mom you are uncomfortable with the situation, and you want a female doctor. You do know that women are allowed to go to college these days, right?? It's a new fangled thing called co-education. And women can even be doctors! What's the world coming to. What will they let us do next??

you need to screened for cancer and there are female docs and young male docs, there is a nurse in the room and its not a turnon.

i'm 21 and have never gone. i probably will never go to one unless something really is wrong. i dont care what anyone else says, i hate going to the doctor because usually its a waste of time and money.

You know, there are female gynecologists...you've got to see one eventually, it's just a good idea and is very important, whether or not you've had sex. If you're uncomfortable try asking people who see one regularly what they think about theirs, try to get a suggestion or a recommendation before you go to see one. It's better to find one on your own after some research and find one you like, rather than waiting until (God forbid) a problem comes along and you've got to see someone you don't know anything about, like someone at a college health center, because it's an emergency. I think you've got to do it eventually if you want to stay as healthy as you can.

You can, but I'd suggest not.First of all, not all gyno's are creepy and not all are men. I have a very awesome female gyno who is only about ten years older than me.Second, for your own health and benefit, seeing a gyno is good. Sure, it's uncomfortable and weird, the first time is extremely awkward...but think about it - this is a professional who sees the same body parts nearly every day. It's really not so bad. Only once a year, and very short.

My mom didn't make me go till she found out I was having sex. I personally don't see why you'd need to go till you are a couple years older. But, it wouldn't kill you either. That said, no you can't go your whole life without going to the gyno. Well, I guess you could but you'd be forgoing them catching any issues before they become big problems. You'll also have to see one if you ever decide to have kids.Tell your mom you want a woman doctor. I don't like men looking there either. But, man or woman..they've seen so many woman parts that it isn't a big deal to them.In many states if you are under a certain age your mom has to be in the room with you. That puts a whole other level of awkward into the mix. Make sure your mom knows her boundries if she has to be there...my mom saw the whole show and I was not a happy camper.

the link below , is a video that shows what happens, it may help to adjust your mind to what happens.

If you want to possibly die one day from somthing as simple as an infection, dont go. But Early detection of problems is best...15 is too young though, have her read up, its usally when your sexually active or age 18.

Well there are some benefits of going because if there is a problem they can find it in time, however, most women do not wanna go to the gyno, so I'm right with ya...just explain to ur mom how much you don't wanna go, and hope that she understands!

Hey, i have the same problem and i am 19. I have an intense fear of having my legs pried open...My doctor, today actually, said "we'll schedual a pap test" and im like No...so she said well are you having sex, and i said nope. she said then you don't need one.I don't see why you would need one before you have sex? The doctors i have spoken with told me i didn't need one if i wasn't sexually active. Some people want to be safe than sorry but i'll just wait til i have sex...ps - it's not inevitable, the doctor won't force him or herself into you
