Is there any way to argue that a parking restriction is unreasonable?

There is a fraction of a block in downtown San Jose, California where parking is restricted from 8pm to 6am as opposed to 3am to 6am or no nightly restriction. I expect all meters to have the normal 8am to 6pm meter rules, but it's pretty common for them to all be off the rest of the time, and that's basically true everywhere except the fraction of the block where I parked. There was a sign posted, so it's still my fault for not looking at the sign the better, I just feel shafted that the rules seem arbitrarily changed for where I was.
Basically, I'm wondering if there are any grounds for classifying the restriction illegal, kind of like an entrapment argument.
