I am really interested in genetics and I was just thinking about this today...

I am african american but on my moms motheres mom was white with blue eyes and my moms fathers mom was white with green eyes...so i was wondering if there was any possibly way that I could carry that recessive allele and possibly have kids with light eyes

yes anything is possible just be optismistic
but you should keep in mind that races like
african american and asain are much more
dominant than the white ethnicity

Yes you can have children with any colored eyes as long as both you and your partner don't both have blue eyes. 2 blue eyed people can only have blue eyed babies. Any other color with blue can have any color.

Actually, Alikatz is wrong - neither parent needs to have blue eyes to have a blue eyed child. (I have blue eyes; my mother has hazel eyes and my father has brown.)

If both parents have brown eyes but both carry the recessive trait for blue eyes, there is a chance that a blue eyed child can be born. Make a punnet square, my friend!

It's possible, but not guaranteed.
But the other person would have to have at least a recessive g or b allele.

if there were blue/green eyes in your background or the babies father's background then yes.

That is a good possiblitly considering that you have white like that running in your family. There is also a possibility that your kids could just be light skinned with regular brown eyes. Genes can be so random so times, because you never know what it going to be passed to your kids and what is not. You would probably have an extremely good chance of having a kid with light eyes if your husband/boyfriend had them too.
