Is there any way for the smoke being produced by coal burning companies to be used

for something good? Can the fumes/smoke/ashes made by burning coal or gas, be used to benefit the environment? Can they be used in bulbs for lighting? Can they be used to accelerate decomposition of plastics/rubbers?
