Everything we do has some effect on our environment. Solar is about the best you can get but it takes a fair bit of real estate for the panels so there would be some loss of habitat for the wildlife. Also, enabling our ability to live comfortably by providing us with power only serves to promote more population growth, thereby displacing more habitat and producing more pollution as well as consuming more resources such as food and water. There's really no way to win, something will have to suffer and we're doing our best to make sure it's not us.
