I've read some studies that argued that some ethnic groups are genetically on average intelligent than others. Since I wanted to have the full picture, I decided to read some of the counter arguments too. Once thing I noticed is that those who argued that the statistics were false always started with the assumption that all ethnic groups are equal in intellectual abilities, while providing no proof or statistic of any kind to prove this.
Considering that we know that people from different ethnic groups differ significantly in both physical appearance and physical abilities, why is there an assumption that we are all genetically equal in mental abilities? I know some of you would say that the physical differences between an African, a European and an Asian are mostly cosmetic, but considering how little we know about the brain or intelligence can we really make any assumptions about how the most subtle difference can affect mental abilities?
Shouldn't we start with no assumptions and investigate further?
