is there any free / cheap camp site in nyc?

if you know any state parks with camping facility, please let me know some details that i can look up. thanks!
 
i'm not from NYC or anything but it seems to me that is the last place in the country I would be looking for a campground...I mean you could always find a bench in central park...i think there is one on long island though, just google state parks in NY
