Is there any damage that can be done to my Xbox360 if i plug in my USB flash drive

in it? yesterday i was watching some videos on my 360 from my USB. then i turned off the 360. Later that day, i went back to my room and turned on my 360. And bang i had 1 flashing red light. so i turned it off and turned it back on, and it was gone. Did my USB cause that Red light to appear?
 
The xbox 360 was never made to cool down mainly most of the console. if you leave your USB in it for too long, it will indeed overheat. just let it cool off a bit before watching/playing something else

It atcually CAN, I got the E74 error, when I unplugged my iPod from the USB it worked but still had lines and then when I turned it off and on it red ringed, so it might.
It probably doesn't though.
