Is there an app showing the 4 icons selected for the 4 navigations keys ?

Hello,

I was wondering if I could have the same thing some motorola phones have, having on the desktop of the phone the 4 icons of the 4 favorite shortcuts people select.

Or maybe another program with favorite shortcuts for apps.

You mean like the Active Standby screen? In addition to the 2 soft keys that can be changed, there's 5 user selectable shortcuts to programs on the main screen. The newest S60 phones have 6 or more.

all my 7 shortcuts are programmed
but I would like to know if it possible to see the icons on the desktop, otherwise I have to remember them

S60 devices don't demand too much from its users. I think you're on our own if you can't remember how you programmed your 5-way.

I know what you speak of, and no -- it's not possible to have a S60 (or even S40) like a Motorola UI that shows the 4 shortcuts when not using Active Standby.

You can, series 40 supports this. Nokia just completely neglected to put it in Series 60 devices.

yes it's available on the 6280 etc

but as has been said above, its not like you've having to memorize the phonebook, its only 5 options to remember!!

I was a bit ironic for the memorizing thing, I put clock on the left, fscaller on the top, bluetooth on the right and contact on the bottom.....

I thought there was an app with some kind of direct shortcuts from the desktop as the new generation of nokia have (n73). the desktop is a bit empty for a smartphone...

Oh cool good to hear -- my last (latest?) S40 is a 6230b, so I haven't seen the latest version on the new devices.
