Despite being discontinued for years, I was able to get my hands on the MZ-N505 model. I like the player itself, but the software is just horrid. I have a Windows 7 machine, but the Sony's website only has updates up to Windows Vista. Now, the real problem is the Open MG and Sonicstage programs which only work for the player. Open MG won't even run because I have Windows 7, and Sonicstage gives me the blue screen of death every time I try to add or delete a track from the player. I'm assuming that after all this time, someone has come up with a hack or 3rd party program to bypass this headache, but is there an alternative to these abysmal programs?
I read from a forum for using Nero as an alternative, but this was a post from years ago. Following the instructions anyways, I've found that the Nero v10 that is avaialable now is nothing like the Nero v7 that these instructions are based off of.
