you need to call your local social security office to ask them this one. as far as i know i believe any kind of jailing or hospitalization will make you loose your ssi. and if this is the case and you choose to go to rehab you need to contact the social security office and tell them your going in and will not need your ssi. if this is not done then you will be charged for the checks you received when you were in rehab. i know this stinks but it's harsh. very good luck to you
