A lot of radio stations stream their audio online these days, but many of them require you to use a Flash player to listen to it. I'd like to route the audio stream through my own media player instead so I can make use of my 5.1 surround sound system (Flash audio only plays out of my front speakers). Flash also seems to have a memory leak on my system, so playing radio streams for a long time this way tends to slow down the system in the long run.
Is there anyway to retrieve the stream file or otherwise route it to my media player (currently Winamp)?
