is there a way i can log onto admin. on my iMac without knowing password?

So say if I forgot my password to log into Admin. on my iMac, is there a way to still get on or "hack" it?
If it were as simple as to "remove the password" i would of already of done it. To do anything from another account your going to need the PASSWORD
