i've been looking for adapters to fit but i don't know which ones to get. also, i don't know how to connect the sound to my speakers. i want wii in my room.

You can plug in the standard yellow component cable into the monitor

You can buy an adaptor to take the red/white cord into a plug you can put into the sound card for like $5 at radio shack.

just checked my brother's 2405 and he has them.

so what do i need exactly to play my wii on the 2005? i don't know which adapters to buy.

you need a component to DVI adapter.
or..depending on what your PC is plugged into...a component to VGA adapter.

hope that helps

You don't need a converter for VIDEO if you use the composite cords. You aren't going to get the better resolution on a 2005fpw.

And yes, you can buy adaptors for the red/white audio cords to turn them in the typical "line in" cord for a sound card. One came with the 360 VGA cords and I bought one at Radio Shack this summer.

Edit: If you're going to a receiver, then you shouldn't need any kind of adaptor on them...

is this what i need? thanks guys. will i be able to run the wii in widescreen since my monitor is widescreen?

I don't see it on Radio Shack's site, but it's something like this: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401&cs_id=1040107&p_id=2120&seq=1&format=2&style=

it has two RCA female connectors to a 3.5mm male connector, so just ask the radioshack guys for something similar.

Just tell the guy at the radio shack you have a game system and you need to take the little red and white cords and make them into one

He'll know what you're talking about

You can do widescreen, yes. You WON'T be able to run 480p unless they release a vga or dvi cord.

one more question. would it work it i got a female to female connector and plugged the speakers straight into the white and red cables? do i have to go through the sound card?

dude at radio shack said he didn't have anything like that. might try best buy or fry's later. he directed me to gamestop and they knew more than those radio shack idiots.
