Is there a storage solution for opened reams of paper?

We can only fit so much paper into our home printer at once, certainly not an entire ream. We've got little kids in our house who love to help themselves to paper, not at all concerned with just how wasteful they're being! I do attempt to teach them, but at this rate it seems it will take some time before they're concerned enough to make conscious changes in their arts & crafts habits, heh.

So I'm craving something like a paper dispenser with a code on it or something, haha. If that existed, it would be great. But since I doubt such a thing exists, what's a good way to store those loose leafs that are very valuable to me?
 
To begin with, don't ever completely unwrap a ream of paper unless you're planning to use it immediately. Carefully open one end of the package, keeping it as fully intact as possible. Next, you're right, there is no specific storage solution. Try getting a plastic container in which to keep the remaining portion and store it on a closet shelf or in a cabinet. Always store flat, not on end. If you have several different types of stock, writing the specs on other sides of the package may help in identification if you're keeping several in the same container.

Light and dust actually work against you in storing paper for any length of time, and the quality of your printed pieces in future.These steps should help keep the children out of it as well as keep it pristine for your future printing needs.
