I received my green card in NY in 1984. I moved to Seattle with my husband, a US citizen, in 1988 where I had two children. My two siblings, also US citizens, also lived there, as did my parents. My entire family were US citizens, except for myself. I was the only one who chose to keep my Indian passport, however I did have a green card. In 1998, I was arrested on a possession charge and was sentenced to one month of house arrest. However, when they were notified by Immigration that I was not a US citizen, I was instead deported back to India. That was over ten years ago. Immigration told me that I could never return. I had to return to a country that was no longer home to me and I was separated from the only family I had. My question is this, is there a statute of limitations on a case like mine. I would really appreciate an answer.
