proceeds going to charity, not me? I am writing a book for the first time, so I don't qualify for the Carnegie Fund for Authors, a sports biography on a high school coaching family, with the proceeds going to the school district. I am looking for a grant of $25,000 to cover the cost of 1000 books, plus $10,000 for my efforts since all proceeds from the $29.95 per book will go to the school district. I even tried to sell local ads in the book, since I will be getting it printed, but with the poor economy, I did not get any takers.
Profits from any future printings will be split 50/50 between myself and the school district. Anyone providing the $25,000 grant can write the foreword for the book.
