I left my last employment and I want to know if I can trust my boss to give me a good reference. I honestly don't know if he would bad-mouth me out of revenge or some personal vendetta or tell the truth which was that I WAS IN FACE a good worker and that I am supervisor material (while I was there, I had two managers and two supervisors that I have the ability to be a good boss one day).
Can I have someone call them and pretend to be a potential employer and find out what they say about me? I know I could ask my friends or family, but I don't know anyone that has ever hired someone before, so I need someone that has hiring experience and would therefore know what questions to ask. Is there a service like that anywhere?
