Is there a reason why i cant use my steering wheel stalk in my Ford Fiesta.?

Car: Ford Fiesta Zetec Climate 57 reg
Manufacture fitted radio: 6000CD
Replacement Radio: Alpine CDE-9850Ri


Basically I want to fit my radio in my car and I have managed to do so but can’t get the steering wheel stalk to work. I am using the PC99-X50 Autolead and the PC99-ALP Autolead cables to connect the radio. The site I bought the lead from says that the PC99-X50 Autolead can be used on Ford Fiesta MK6's made from Sept 05 onwards (double DIN), is this not the right Autolead for my car?
